A Pirate's Adventure

By Alissa Hibst

The waves softly clashed
against the shiney, red sailboat
I hollered to my two best friends
to come hop on the sea-going craft.
We hobbled on like pirates,
ready to seize any helpless maiden
of her sparkling jewels.

The waves of the high sea
came crashing down upon us:
the two mighty six-year-old men
(with a peg leg, of course)
and the fair, royal run-away maid.

"I see a king's ship coming near!" the brawny man said.

We rocked the boat from
side...
to...
side...
drawing near on our prey.

In a moment a man was overboard,
and that man was I.

I had almost cleared the side of the boat,
the then
CRASH!

My head whipped back
as my chin came barreling down
upon the side of the ship.
It suddenly had become the color of the boat:
Blood red.

And Hibby and Hubby's investment seems to be paying off. I came to your site via the link for her award. :)

Welcome to the world of blogging. May your journey be long and prosperous. I loved the piece you posted by Alissa Hibst. Is this your pen-name or a relation? Whoever it is, she clearly has a talent for writing.

Isn't Alissa amazing! One day she was reading her different writings to me while we were driving around the city and I was "I am so going to blog that!!!" Haha! Oh, sparkly building!
